Service members considering or currently on TRT should take deliberate steps to align treatment with military requirements. The overall objective is to determine whether TRT can be safely maintained without compromising mission readiness or the health of the service member. The process emphasizes transparent communication between the service member, medical providers, and the unit leadership. This level of detail supports decision-making about deployment eligibility and retention while ensuring medical safety for the patient. Medical records must clearly document the diagnosis, rationale for TRT, monitoring schedule, and any adjustments to therapy. Adherence to dosing regimens, injection or transdermal application schedules, and documentation of side effects are essential components of ongoing care. The most common components for the supplements were zinc, fenugreek, vitamin B6, Tribulus, magnesium, boron, diindolemethane, Eurycoma longifolia, and Maca extract. For the T booster supplements surveyed, 109 components were identified. The present study is descriptive in nature, without direct patient or subject involvement, using commercially available online information on over-the-counter T supplements. Other search terms such as "Testosterone Supplement" yielded products that contained exogenous sources of hormone, which is beyond the scope of this study. This product is currently available for purchase online, which means that you cannot just get it from local stores, over the counter. This further results in better muscle development, more muscle mass, and better performance both in the gym and in bed. Clinicians assess for adverse effects such as polycythemia, cardiovascular concerns, sleep disturbances, mood changes, or skin and prostate issues. Medical evaluators look for objective indicators—lab results, symptom control, side effects, and adherence to follow-up care—that help determine suitability for deployment. In some cases, a service member on TRT may be temporarily or permanently deemed non-deployable, depending on the stability of the condition and the stability of the treatment plan. Hormonal therapies can influence energy, focus, mood, and cardiovascular health, all of which bear on mission readiness. A member already receiving TRT may face non-deployable status or limitations on certain assignments depending on the treating clinician’s guidance and medical evaluation. In many cases, active TRT present at the time of enlistment can result in a medical waiver process or could lead to non-qualification for certain occupations or assignments. A diagnosis of hypogonadism or ongoing hormone replacement can be a factor in eligibility determinations. Ninety percent of supplements claimed to "boost T", 50% "improve libido", and 48% "feel stronger". Deployment eligibility can be affected by TRT, with clinicians evaluating the stability of treatment and its impact on performance. A medical waiver process allows service members to continue in service if the treating clinician and military medical evaluators agree that the therapy won’t impair readiness or safety. Additionally, some branches impose specific restrictions on activities that could affect safety or performance, such as high-demand field duties or roles with limited medical support. Commanders and medical boards may consider whether the therapy affects physical readiness, cognitive function, mood, or cardiovascular risk. Recruiters and medical evaluators assess whether TRT would impact basic training, precision in performance, or deployability. Key considerations include the underlying diagnosis, therapy duration, dosing, monitoring plans, and potential side effects. On PubMed, 24.8% of supplements had data showing an increase in T with supplementation, 10.1% had data showing a decrease in T, and 18.3% had data showing no change in T. We evaluated the composition and advertised claims of "T boosting" supplements, and supporting published evidence. Treatment plans usually include goals such as symptom relief, stabilization of testosterone levels within a target range, and minimizing risks. A clear, documented plan for monitoring testosterone levels, testosterone-related risks, and periodic re-evaluation is often required to maintain readiness while on TRT. Service members must adhere to military drug and medical policies, which oversee hormonal therapies, require regular lab work, and mandate reporting of any adverse effects or changes in health status. Maca is also known to enhance mental health enabling men to have more focus and concentration during sexual performances and rigorous workouts. Proper mental health boosts concentration making users to focus more during work outs and sexual performances.
